Q. Am I guaranteed coverage?
A. Nothing is 100% guaranteed when dealing with the media as you're not paying for coverage. However if you follow this process and you've got a good product and a good story, you stand a much higher chance of getting the media's attention.

A. We’ve created a simple, easy to follow four step process. It will guide you through, step by step and it will teach you all you need to know about approaching the media.

Q. What's the difference between Premium+, Premium and Essential?
A. Premium and Premium+ give you one-on-one time with us to check your story angles, to go through your completed worksheets and media materials and to generally send you off in the right direction.
Essential does not give you one-on-one time with us, but if you feel you need some help along the way, you can always buy some time.
With Premium+, we do 80% of the work for you.
Q. How long does the process take?
A. The length of time it takes really depends on you and how quickly you work through the Steps.
That said, if you use the pre-prepared media list in the kit, rather than creating your own, then you can get through the kit in as little as five hours.
Q. PR is not guaranteed and advertising is.
A. You’re right. PR is never 100% guaranteed but it is free and when you do secure a piece of coverage, it’s ten times more powerful than an ad ever could be. That’s because it’s not your own opinion but that of someone not connected to your business. And that’s why we teach you the best way to approach the media to give you the greatest chance of your story being told.

Q. If I live outside of Australia will these kits still help me?
A. Absolutely. We include a section on how to create a media list from scratch and provide a template. The process is the same regardless of where you are in the world.
Q. How up to date is the media list?
A. We update the list every two weeks. To get the latest version, make sure you download it again from your dashboard.
Q. If I buy the Essential Kit, can I buy a session after?
A. Yes you can. Within your dashboard, you can buy a session and book a suitable time online.
Q. Is it a one-off charge or a subscription?
A. You buy the kits in a single transaction; there is no monthly subscription. That means you can reuse the kit over and over again for each new story you have to tell.

Q. I can spend my budget on Facebook ads or on this. Why should I choose I Do My Own PR?
A. Because at the end of the process, you will have learnt a skill that you can use over and over again. Once you’ve spent your money on Facebook ads, the ads stop. By learning to do your own PR, you will be building lasting relationships with influential media that you can lean on when you have a story to tell.
But remember, PR, advertising and social media are not mutually exclusive. They work best when implemented hand-in-hand, so you shouldn’t be looking at it as an either/or situation.
Q. What if I do my own PR and I get coverage but the phone doesn’t ring?
A. Well that is unlikely, but if the phone really doesn’t ring, you will still have laid strong foundations for your brand and you can guarantee that a lot more people will know about your brand than before.
You will have raised your profile; established credibility; you’ll be front of mind when people do need your product and they will be far more likely to choose your product over your competitor’s because the media chose to talk about yours.
